Hindmarsh Valley Falls this morning

A beautiful morning. John decided that as the tides were wrong we would go out to Hindmarsh Valley and walk to the falls and collect eggs from Tab on the way home. It is an interesting climb/ walk down to the viewing platform, especially for some one who uses a stick but I managed it. Going back up was a little more interesting as the steps are not of an even height but I made it. We have had quite a lot of rain so the falls were quite spectacular. When we called in to collect the eggs half the family was there so caught up with ;Gabby and baby Nathan and Lachie as well as Millie and a couple of her half sisters who had arrived. Not to mention people collecting hens from Tab as she sells point of lay hens as well as her heritage poultry. All go and I was ready to get home. Beautiful day, but I have certainly had my walk. Feeling a bit annoyed though as I had prepared soup and put it in the slow cooker, came home to find I hadnt turned it on at the switch. Not that it mattered it will just take longer.

The last rose.

I am not having a good day with computer, photos and posting!! Enough. I picked what I think will be the last rose until spring. The other photos are lovely leaf colours and shapes that I have in pots. Cold and damp today. It is winter. I had to be up and in early for a fasting blood test this was just around the corner from the market so I had a wander around. Home for a late breakfast. Aching rather but surviving. We had a walk around the mouth of the Inman river, pelicans and lots of sea gulls.

Yesterday at Pt Elliot

We had a great walk along the flatter path above the track at Pt elliot, it was a lovely bright sunny day and a very lovely walk. I did run out of room on my little camera but that was ok. Today we have had rain, quite sharp cold showers. Maybe a walk if we dont get wet.

Around the garden.

A lot of wind and some rain in the night. My garden is enjoying the rain in fact I think I will have to pull out the alyssum soon there is so much that has seeded, far more than before. I could never grow it on the farm so am very pleased to have it here. I am still having problems with my good Amery, I think I may have a bit of and in the lens which is really annoying. The new little one really doesn't take such photos and getting them from the camera is not the easiest. Sun out at the moment. Time for a walk.

Inman river opened to the sea.

Today the river was through the sand bank. Not sure if it was done naturally or had some help. This morning early I had a message to say my granddaughter was in the local hospital after giving birth in Adelaide so I took advantage of the early hour and raced in to see her and the little one. He is sweet and apparently very good. John was home filleting the fish he caught yesterday. Then on to a morning tea which was lovely as I don't get to those things often. A walk to look at the river late. Very cold this morning .

A lot of swearing!!

Trying to find my photos to put on blogger is a nightmare with this new computer. Never the same twice. It was terribly cold today, and damp we were going to walk at Pt Elliot but the heavens opened. My arthritis is giving me hell and my tin nee really doesnt help. The temperature didnt go over 12 degrees all day. To suddenly start aching again is nt fun. We did have a short walk this afternoon, the Inman river is very high but still hasnt burst through the sand at the mouth, either more rain upstream or a very high tide. It will be interesting. The tides are not really good for walking on the beach either, well not when you have to use a walking stick. The new great grand baby has been born but I am not supposed to say anything yet. All well at least. I am still sewing up the little knitted rabbit I made, my eyes dont really like such close work at the moment so a little at a time.

A slow, cold day.

These photos were taken over at Pt Elliot yesterday, the she oaks are in flower and there was a new plaque yp near where you can sit and watch whales, too early yet but it was a good walk up and we did see a seal. Today was washing day and bed making etc, most did dry as there was quite a wind but there are a few late towels etc on the line. It drizzled a bit and probably didnt get over abut 12 degrees. I have a large rooster from Tab in the slow cooker, making sup I think. It is certainly soup weather. George has been misbehaving himself, knocking pots off the table by the front window. A couple of orchids I was hoping to get going inside. It has been so cold. When we thought we might walk it drizzled. It is winter after all.
