Circles and back roads

I M still slowly doing Karen Abends sketchbook revival. Loved doing these two. Also a couple of photos of a drive around our back roads. Today we had our covid vaccinations we don't have our second until June with our flu jabs in May. About all the social things I do any more.

bits and pieces.

These lovely Thai egg plant are proving popular. Easy to grow and they taste great. I am taking part in Karen Abends sketchbook revival and today I had a lovely time playing with Karen Stampers class, making books, I love making books, these are little simple accordion books, she has used simple vase shapes and various ways of embellishing them. I just made a prototype so I can go back to them later. I am loving this series of classes, not that I am doing them all, I find 2 classes a day a bit more than I can manage, well some days.

A wonderful gift

My friend Wendy made this wondrous bird for me. The colour is more like it in the (I think)2nd photo. I just love it. Friends are wonderful.

Around the Bay

A wet morning so no morning walk. We did a later walk on the cliffs at Petrels Cove and then drove around the bay. No point in trying to walk on the beach as it was high tide. I potted up some succulents and did quite a lot of sewing.all pretty boring.

Last night while waiting to collect a pizza

Down on the seafront we have a wonderful pizza place, we tend to get a takeaway these days. One day when we have all had our inoculations we may go back to eating in but because I am diabetic and "at risk" not now. So I sat in the car and as I had my tablet with me I took a couple of photos in the gathering dusk of the road ahead and in my rear vision mirror. We had had a long day, up at 6 am and up through the hills, where some trees are already turning in to their autumn colours, through rain to call on friend P, see my sister and drop off her birthday cake and a couple of other things and back through the rain to our hairdresser, who lives on the coast. Lunch, a lovely salad roll from the Aldinga bakery eaten looking at the sea. Then home and a sleep! We both find these trips tiring, once we thought nothing of it. This morning a lovely walk on the beach. Rather boring I am afraid.

A new sketchbook

I have joined Karen Abend's sketchbook revival aain and as an early taster there is a slightly different sketchbook to make. Fun and easy I made this one out of bits and pieces that I had on hand, the cover an old calender and the inside papers are various. Mine is quite mall and will fit in my handbag. Looking forward to what is in store when it opens properly on the 18th. Warming up a bit at the moment, but we had some rain during the night. Not a lot, a bit over 2mm but it all helps.

Glorious weather

The last few days have been lovely. Not too hot, not too cold. Unfortunately both John and I ha e gone down with bad backs and doing much physical exercise has been rather a problem. We ha e managed rou beach walks but often not as much as we would like so I have been making a clutch of these little birds
