I do love my friends.

This wonderful little book arrived in the post. I have sat and looked at it over and over again. Sorry some of the pages are a bit dark. It certainly brightened my day. So lovely to have friends like this especially as I am getting older and not able to get out and about as much as I once could.

Around the neighborhood

We did a bit of a wander around from Kings Beach to Petrel's Cove and the around bits of the suburbs I hadn't been to before. I didn't realize there were so many parks and ponds not far from where we live. Lots of the mad blue water birds too. I managed quite a long beach walk this morning, did a catch up on my daily sketches and am sewing some felt birds, in between reading. To night I will make kegeree for dinner. Comfort food.

Hot and bothered

Yesterday was hot. We left home just after lunch and it was 36 degrees to go to this exhibition. I had a tea towel in it. John wasn't keen but I felt that if I didn't go to the opening I would never get there. Our car is old but at least it has airconditioning and the 2 1/2 hour drive there and back wasn't too bad. We have so far had a fairly mild summer so driving through the hills the gardens and trees still looked good. I was blown away by the stitching that was on show and hope I can keep on finding the video that was done. India and Melinda have done a fabulous job displaying all of the tea towels that have come from all over the world. It was a shame it was so hot as there were only two of us there when I was there. John stayed outside and I didn't dare stay too long as he is having back problems. As both of us are now over 80 things get very tiring so we were pleased to get home, where it was 38 degrees. Thank goodness for air conditioning as it was very hot all night too. Not only has John got back problems but I have an annoying medical condition which means more appointments. I would just like to feel well and able to take on the world. Not happening at the moment and no beach walks either. There is supposed to be a change overnight so perhaps a walk tomorrow.

This and that

Things from the lastf ew days. Parsons beach, a lovely star fish and a made up sketch. Sorry I didn't crop the. Had my stitches out today, not anything malignant, just something no one had heard of. Much nicer today as we had about 2.2 mm of rain over night. Cool and pleasant.

Our 62nd wedding anniversary.

Not the best photo, they are getting rather old. I was 19 and John 21. Absolute babies but we are still together and very good friends. We didn't choose the best place for lunch buT at least we got out. As John says the trouble s we are too good cooks, but we have tried it. Did well at the Welsh Youngstown show in one ring. Can't win them all, not the judges choice in the other ring.

Wet and windy today.

And fascinating clouds. We have had some very heavy showers but only about 11 mm and today another 7. The weather bureau has been threatening us with all sorts of interesting weather but so far not too bad. The garden is liking the rain. I have been still feeling a bit off but have several projects on the go, it just seems to take me a lot longer to get my head around the instructions!

Around the beaches.

Late evening, we have now has some rain. Always need rain. Tomorrow could be interesting high winds and with any luck more rain. Love this coast line. Interesting clouds too. I am playing with some hand sewing and some daily sketching.
