A bit of this and that

Once more I have been rather naughty and not keeping my blog up to date. Big excitement yesterday as our Melbourne son and his wife called in. We haven't seen them for nearly 3 years as the pandemic just wasn't nice to us, not that we have had covid but we don't go any where. Being in our 80's we really don't want to get it. Walks on the beach, not as long as they once were but at least mostly we manage to get out in the fresh air for half an hour or so. I do relie on a stick these days as a third leg. The little pink cyclamen rewarded us this year with a lovely lot of flowers. I haven't quite finished the baby blanket for the next great grand son, I have an aching hand which is a bit of a worry

Winter wanderings

It has been cold but we have managed a daily walk. The tides have not been good so each walking has been a bit sporadic but a walk Pt Elliot saw that the aloe along the top path are starting to flower, always lovely to see in mid winter. Petrels Cove this morning was showing how high the tide was although some one was down there fishing. I am re looking at Lorna Cranes on line course, so nice to be doing this, I have made a new brush and playing with the asemic writing. Love the shapes this makes. I am doing things I can do inside as it is so cold and where I paid the is outside, under cover but so cold!

Home from Queensland.

We had a lovely but tiring trip to the Gold Coast to celebrate long time skiing friend J's 80 the birthday. I think now we are over 80 it takes a lot longer to get over trips like this. Getting up at 4 am to reach the airport is no fun any more. J luckily gave us lunch and sent us to bed for a couple of hours. We helped with birthday preparations, helped feed old friends who were on the coast. Walked (slowly!) Shopped, had fabulous lunches and generally had a lovely time. Unfortunately the return trip was rather a nightmare, where we should have been home a bit over 4pm it was 6.30, but at least we were in Adelaide. We didn't get home until 8.30. No food in the house so into bed. I was shattered. Too old for all this. We were on our way to the airport when the delayed notification came through so rather a long wait in the airport. Yesterday we unpacked, washed, got food in. Animals pleased to see us. Very tired this morning and the prospect of Adelaide tomorrow and a house inspection on Thursday are not thrilling me.
