Walking early this morning
So here were some photos of my short walk with the odd wave crashing in, the vegetation by the path and the point of Victor in the background.
I took loads of photos so there will be more.I quite like being a tourist in my own town.
We have a combined cycle and walking path that goes all the way around the town and then on through Pt Elliott and Middleton to Goolwa which is wonderful, mostly by the sea so great for those who ride bikes and walkers alike.
today's quote is from Kris Kristofferson and it is the way I feel at the moment.
"Freedom's just another word for
nothing left to lose"
Oh and dont forget my give away ends tonight and I will draw it in the morning.

A slate roof and garden plants
I am absolutely pooped.
It was an Adelaide trip today and hair cuts and going to see my mother sooo...
I am not one to sit and look at myself in the mirror for 3/4 of an hour but on hair cut days that is what happens, and I see all the lines and wrinkles and jowls I dont want to know about. I left John to do the same thing and raced up in the dirty red ute, not so sexy when it is dirty, to get flowers and on to see my mother. She was in a wheel chair this time, so has not progressed and was asleep for most of my visit so I chatted to the other women, well one as every one else seemed to be asleep.
I was there for an hour very dispiriting.
On our way home we were going to have take away but in digging up the road for the desalination pipe the power was out so we went on to Willunga which is well known for its very old slate quarry, and had a light lunch,( but twice as expensive as take away!) and looking over the road from where we had lunch was this small piece of slate roof on an old but sort of made over cottage. The other half of the roof was corrugated iron but I loved the pattern that had been made of the slates on this roof.
Home and the yellow daisy is out and looking cheerful and this bromeliad has put out a lovely deep red rosette.
The dogs are fed and I need to get some cheese sauce to put over the cauliflower made bu here is tonight's quote, it is by Karen Kaiser Clark, who it says is an American legislator and feminist. Make of it what you will.
"Life is change.
Growth is optional.
Choose wisely."

Millie and the Owl and the pussy cat
Last night Millie and her parents came for dinner and while playing in the dolls house her mother found the old viking hat which we did have on Millies head but she wasnt too impressed with that and I was a bit late with the camera, but she didnt mind holding it.
The other photo is to show that her hair is slowly growing.
Then the owl and the pussy cat with his duck that I was doing the other day. Millie had a lovely time moving them around and playing with them so perhaps they will sell. I have actually made them for sale. I know they are a bit mad but I love making them and they have kept me quiet for a while.
I have had a not so good morning so far, the entire herd of over 300 cows some how managed to get into the garden and orchard, as we have had quite a lot of rain the whole place is a total disaster, enough to make me weep as I just dont feel fit enough to get out and fix it.
It has poured with rain 14 mm in about 3 hours and all the gutters overflowed as well and I got soaked trying to prop up one gutter but the rain was so fast and heavy in the end all the gutters overflowed. So cow pug holes every where.
I am not sure if this is appropriate but it is a quote by E.K. Brough, who I do not know.
"And remember, we all stumble, every one of us.
That's why it's a comfort to go hand in hand."

Yesterdays walk,
I am incredibly lucky to live close to this, a ten minute drive and I am here, although I would dearly love to be able to watch the sea all the time, I think I would miss the farm and so really I have the best of both worlds.
A pair of Pacific gulls were swimming in a very clear pool, there were white horses as I havent seen them for ages on the waves by Wright Island but I think I missed photos of the best ones, click on the photo for a closer look, and these are the rocks right by the end of The Bluff where I nearly drowned 40 odd years ago scuba diving while pregnant.
I have done too much, well I didnt think it was too much but obviously my wretched knee thinks I have, and so I am not terribly comfortable tonight.
I did ironing, standing, and then had a Women's and Children's hospital auxiliary meeting where I stood for longer than I meant to.

A walk and some gardening
I have taken the support off my knee to see how that goes, so we walked this afternoon, not up where I took these photos, this is the Petrel Cove, Kings Beach side of the Bluff and there was a reasonable swell but all the surfers were along at Kings Beach if the cars were any indication.
A lovely sunny afternoon but quite a strong breeze.
We walked for a good 3/4 of an hour along the base of the Bluff and although I was a bit sore by the time we got back to the car it is much better.
Then there is John's fish well his big flathead he got yesterday and a few others in the sink, Oscar is happy as the red ones are red mullet and he is given them.
Oh and an arrangement of pots that caught my eye.
Mark Twain said this:
I have spent most of my life worrying
about things that never happened.
How true.

One owl, two owls
Of course I will get sick of them before long.
The sun shone for all of about half an hour this morning, it has drizzled ever since. In that half hour I took the camera out and took a photo of my little prunus that is flowering even though John thought it had died, and the camellia by the bedroom window is covered. I have never ever had so many.
While I was outside there were goldfinches in the nettles in the overgrown vege garden, although the broad beans are in and blue wrens around in the wormwood, I think they are nesting in there.
I keep trying to take photos but havent a hope with this little camera and they are so quick.
John has just come home from fishing, I must take some photos, they didnt get a lot but at least a feed of fresh fish which will be nice.
Todays quote is by Francoise Sagan
"It is impossible to speak highly enough
of the virtues, the dangers and the power
of shared laughter."
