Very hot again today.

We didn't walk this morning as our son called in, lovely to see him, but it was too hot to walk by the time he left. I put the little trees I had made from a free tutorial on Ann Wood's blog, love Thai quirky look. George has been sleeping on the floor under the air conditioner. It really is a bit early to have this heat and things are not coping with it very well. I did bring in quite a few things from the shed, paints as I was afraid they would dry out. The outlet for the air conditioner is out under the asinine roof and some of the plants get very hot so I have brought some in. I love having plants in the house, on the farm I had lots. Not so much room here. I have spent quite a lot of the day sewing, small embroidered tags for Christmas trees, I think I need 24, and have done over half. Christmas will be a bit sad this year, with not much money our usual pate will not be made. I have made a decision to do what looks like a great on line class with Roxanne Evans Stout called pathways and wanderings. It has been discounted and I have decided that somehow I have the money and although it maybe my last on line class I would do it. The exchange rate is not very good but I am in. Something to keep the brain going. I feel a bit shut in, the heat in summer tends to do that, our winters are mild so one can get out but the heat tends to drive every one inside. I was hoping for a walk this evening but John has a meeting. So late dinner.

Early mornin g beach walk

It has got hot again today, slowly I am working out how this air conditioner works. No dont leave the back door open John!! Any way there were a pair of hooded plover on the beach, did the wandering dogs get the last pair of chicks? Such a busy beach to try to raise chicks on. I am glad it was so cool while we were there, although it did get quite a lot warmer as we walked back to the car. A reasonably productive day, washing done, vacuuming done, George nearly being sucked up into the vacuum cleaner, he and John have a lovely time playing. I am back doing some hand sewing and rang friend J to see if there is any latest news. I havent rung for a couple of weeks. Fish for dinner tonight. Have been spending time looking at Pinterest and trying to work out if I can afford a lovely on line class with Roxanne Evans Stout. they are so expensive (US dollars) but I can take a year to do this and she has discounted it. I need to keep the brain going. Hot again tomorrow, I really dont much like this weather but lets face it, it is almost summer and actually I think our summer goes for 4 months not 3.

John went fishing, I pottered around

I have to say I didn't feel brilliant today but I did manage to make a batch of biscuits and tidy a few things up. It warmed up quite a bit. John had a reasonably successful day fishing although I have to say all the fish for George, and not us, ended up on top in the sink. He will eat well. I am fed up with feeling rather off but I suppose my body will eventually settle down with this new medication.

A busy day

I am not sure I am used to days like this. In to the market, a walk on the beach, home to finish off the cake, forgot to take a photo. made a potato salad and then over to Tabs for a party for Millie (10) herself (50) and an early one for John (80 on 21st of December)it was a lovely day and a lovely combination of people and children. Now very tired.

A wonderful cold, windy walk on the cliffs.

I loved this mornings walk. After the last few hot days, this was a bit of my favorite cliff top walk. Only trouble was we nearly got blown off the track and I came back to the car absolutely exhausted. Probably the longest walk I have had for weeks. I suppose it has all taken its toll, these last few weeks, feeling rather dislocated. but I am getting more used to this little house. I just need to get a few flowering plants around in a few pots. I dont like the way it all looks so bare. Slowly slowly does it though. Having the injection in my stomach every week really does take it out of me for a day or so after I do it too. Sick of feeling tired.

Cool and damp

After the heat of the last few days it was lovely to wake up this morning to a bit of drizzle and much cooler temperatures. No walk as rather too damp but over to Tabbys to look for some stuff in the container and it was lovely to see more rain there and the hills in the clouds. Interesting to see so much of what was my garden in her outdoor area. I did find the threads I was looking for and they are now back here. Only trouble is all I want to do is sleep. We dont seem to get as much rain in this part of the town. Back to sewing.

Bits and pieces.

We were on the beach before 8 am this morning as it was supposed to get to 36 degrees today down here. It has got very hot but thank goodness for a decent air coditioner that works. I have spent most of the day making felt tags to use for Christmas. I felt for a while as if I really didn't want to know about Christmas but must be over my virus as I am suss in out a few easy things to do. Now if only I could find my big box of threads. I will have to wait until it cools down to go looking. There isn't much in the garden to pick for inside but I did manage this small bunch.
