TAST30,31 32,

I had some time this afternoon and finished the three weeks of Sharon Boggon (see side bar) TAST series of embroidery stitches.
They are top right eastern stitch, bottom right raised herringbone and to the left, shell chain stitch. Interesting and easy to do.

A lovely Birthday

Shadow abnd sun, here I am with a glass of bubbly and John didnt notice the bucket by my chin! Ah well, it was a lovely lunch and a beautiful day. The native dendrobiums in the orchid house are looking spectacular, the garden looked not too bad and the little blue wrens buzzed around all the time. The oldest male peacock sat in the garden and then called every so often, but he looked so elegant we didnt mind.
Oscar? Well he got turfed off the bed so we could have a small sleep to wear off the champagne later in the afternoon, and then we ate nice things again for dinner.
I hate to say it but it was all a lot cheaper and nicer than if we had gone out.
I couldnt get a physio appointment today but will go tomorrow. John had to go to Adelaide for a meeting and his cousins funeral so I spent most of the day hobbling around tidying up, I thought I only did that a few days ago! It is amazing how many magazines and things we manage to accumulate.
We have friends staying over the week end so I am trying to get things looking a bit respectable for them.
I am in a Birthday ATC swap and my atc's are slowly trickling in, it will be great fun as I have been sending them out all over the world for ages.
I will show some in a few days.
It has got quite warm and I must go out and water my pots, I have had a lovely few months not having to worry but now it is amazing how quickly they dry out.
Thank you to all who sent me birthday wishes, it is great to think that people all over are thinking of you.

Winners of my Give away

I think some people are lucky! the winner was/is Robyn Gordon and the 2nd one was Julie Oakley. I will contact them by email and let them know.
I numbered all the comments I got cut up paper put them in a hat and John pulled out the numbers. I think that was fair enough.

Happy Birthday to me.

This is what I bought myself as a Birthday present at Geelong, a wonderful very soft wool scarf that has been hand dyed with natural dyes, with eucalyptus leaves on it. Made by Pam Hovel of Raw Edge textiles I just love it, and it is so unbelievably soft.
the next photos are a bit out of order, the Geelong Grammar school chapel, this school is wonderful, set by the bay it is magic. The middle one is of Jimmy, the family in Melbournes dog, with a bit of Will in the bushes with another dog at the beach. Jimmy is a short haired pointer, 10 months old and loves going like a rocket with other dogs. He wouldnt stay still for me to take a decent shot of him so he looks really silly.
the last photo is of one of the lovely statues in the grounds, with a bit added, at textile forums there is always a bit of silliness going on and it had been so cold the knitting lot decided to make some thing warm for the little artists to wear.
After a lot of grumbling I have finally worked out that I had to sign in and out of picasa for the money I had paid to work as my GB's, it took John all of a few minutes to work it out although I had been through all the other help bits before. For those of you who dont know, you only have a certain amount of free space and then you pay, in my case 1000 photos and then for 20 GB $5 a year, we will see how long that takes to run out. I just wish that for non computer people like me it was a bit simpler, I know how things I do work and then fall in a heap when they dont.
I will do the draw for the Give away tonight and post it then, so still time for any comments.

I am not happy with Blogger

I hope who ever runs blogger has their ears burnt off!!
My account says I have ex amount of whatevers that I have paid for to put photos up and yet still they will not load.
I have wasted so much time today on this and no one will answer my query, you would think they would make things simple for non computer savvy people but the more you look for an answer the more confused you become. If only you could actually contact some one.
Enough of my rant.
I am home. I have photos. I had a lovely time except that my knee is killing me, again! Perhaps I will have to have the mri done my doctor suggested.
Still time to enter my give away.
Back tomorrow.

No Photos

Well I have just paid for some more photo storage space, not sure how long it will last, but as I will be off early in the morning and they tell me it could take up to 24 hours to come through I probably wont be posting until either Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Dont forget to post a comment before the end of the 4th of October for the Give away.

Birthday Giveaway, frogs and ponies.

I have been meaning to organise a giveaway for ages so finally here it is. It is my Birthday on the 4th of October so any comments made on either this blog or my other one here up to and including that day will go into the draw.
Depending on how many I get I may split the prize, and may add some more as the time goes on.
Yesterday I went to pot up a couple of plants and when i opened the bag this little fellow was inside. I think he is the one who goes ker plog in the dams and is called a banjo frog but I could be wrong. I let him go in and around my damp pots where I hope he will be alright.
Last night I had to walk down and look at the pregnant mares, a walk my knee didnt much appreciate but I took these photos, long shadows and it is getting just a bit warmer.
We went over to Tabby and John's this morning and sat outside in the sun to have a cup of tea. Lovely.
Well back outside to pull some more weeds.
