I decided that as I have now passed my 1000 blog posting I would do a give away, so here is what some one could win by posting on my blog before midnight Friday 7th of August, Central Australian Time.

A lovely day today the sun is shining so I am about to go and see if I can pull a few weeds, I need to get outside and see what is going on.
After the terrible heat and long dry of last summer when I couldnt water for 3 months I cannot believe how well the camellias look, I have more flowers than ever before, perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt about too much watering.
Of course this month we have gone well and truly over our average for July, but we need lots more rain before the farmers will be happy, and truth to tell me as well as there is nothing like rain water for making gardens grow.

Greetings and congrats from Richmond, Victoria. We are still very dry here in Victoria, not much rain round Melbourne - we get smatterings but not a good hard downfall.
Congrats, Penny, on 1,000 blogs. And I am so glad that you got a little of that much needed rain. I hope Victoria and other dry areas get some, and you probably need a great deal more, too. We finally got enough so that our creeks filled up our big dirt tank (nearly empty).

I know all about your Aussie drought last year. My sister lives in Bungendore, not too far from Canberra and 'Lake George' next to them hasn't had any water for years. I visited them last Feb/March (2008). I love gardening too but know how hard it is for you over there. It's just wet here. Wet, wet, wet in Ireland!

I am enjoying your blog, you have some wonderful pictures, and yes I think that you do have the best of two worlds: my two worlds are lakes, and prairie land. I am from South Dakota, and that is prairie land, and I get homesick for it.

Penny, I'm so so impressed that you have 1000 posts. It boggles my mind. I got so excited when I celebrated my 100th post. I haven't looked that far down the road to post 1000 times. And, at the rate I'm going this year, I'll be very old before that ever happens.
