A lovely day and today a walk on the cliffs, there is a pos of little dolphins in the last photo but you may not be able to see them. Oh and we had morning tea with friends at what was Whalers and now is called Eat. ONe of each of the three cuoples had a birthday or is about to have one so it was lovely to catch up. Still recovering from last week.

I have been to a workshop

Home from a great 3 day workshop with the lovely Mary Hettmansperger, I have taken several classes with Mary. I love what she does but this time I did some different things to the normal jewelry. My little sprite and the start of a sculpture. Still thinking about him. Painting is next. Chicken wire, panty hose. Paper and modge podge. My book by Anne Kelly arrived today too.I really loved my class with her so this book is a lovely bonus. We had a freezing cold walk this afternoon, but at least we got back to it.

My crazy big bird.

Not the best light but here he/she is. I have struggled with her. Still not madly keen on her feathers, I may do another one. This one looks a bit louche. Great fun to do, typical of Jill Maas quirky ideas. Today we walked twice,a lovely one this evening

Wandering at Pt Elliot

I have had a bit of a struggle the last few days, a bit of stitching, some reading and the odd walk but some rather short. This morning we had a lovely walk, going in a different direction. Along the beach and then through the dunes and inland. It was quite warm. We found a couple of quondong bushes with ripe fruit on them. A butterfly near a bush on the sand at the back of the beach. I walked further than I have for ages. I feel better when I have done that. I just wish I was sleeping better and that my stomach was behaving. I hate the foul taste in my mouth. But it was such a beautiful morning.

Playing around with this little miss.

Another of Jill Maas patterns, I have been working on her for ages. A slightly shrunk Denise. Had to make do with the scraps of leopard skin fabric I had. Really pleased with her. Haven't had her story yet. Probably something like getting lost on her safari holiday Love Jill creative ideas.

Freezing cold, wind and hail.

My plants look quite good, but not a day for a walk. I spent time on my big bird, still a way to go but getting there, now the duck is finished. The sea was well up, we drove around to have a look but it started hailing so home. We had a roast tonight. At least it tasted OK, the last few weeks I haven't much liked the taste of my food. All those pills I am taking I suppose. Oops, thought I had put this up. Dolores duck is finally been finished.

Not finished yet.

I finally found a jumper that was the colour I was looking for and got it sewn up. Not as easy as you would think. She needs socks from the same jumper and mad hair wires. I am being terribly slow. We had a lovely walk this morning along the cliffs, weather was stunning and huge waves rashing in every so often. Washing done and back in. Really warm today. Love spring when it is like this but no rain for a few days and we need it.I worry that summer will arrive too soon. Not looking for ward to real heat. The new pills make me wee a lot. Awake half the night. Dammit.

More flowers.

Not a lot to pick but a bit in the garden. Over at Tabs these donkey orchids were by the side of the road. Hard to photograph as it was windy. Trying to put a white background to them. We have walked and I am doing a bit of hand sewing. For some reason we are both tired. I have just started a new pill, we will see what that does. Oh and I saw Lachy today to, bonus.

Freesia and a needle case.

Yesterday John took me out to pick some of these feral freesia, they smell divine. They are in spots on the side of roads and are a lovely free bonus at this time of the year. I also finished another needle case, I have a lot to do but some how not doing a lot. Saw my GP today, there is a plan in place to manage my diabetes but slowly does it, can't see the educator for a week or so which is a good thing as I have 2 workshops coming up finishing in mid October and need to be home while we work out dosages. So So slowly does it. Today I was back to walking, a reasonable distance.

Looking at stuff over at Yankalilla.

We went over to see what my grandmothers cottage looked like. So sad it it is derelict with huge patches of salt damp and grass in the gutters. Such a shame but a new house has been built near by and I found it interesting that the cottage over the road is still looked after and looking lovely. I think I last stayed in it when I was 11, then it was sold so about 1950. I remember it as charming but pretty primitive. Kerosene lamps, water from the well, wood stove and a wash in a bowl by the stove. Ice came on the bus. From there we went to the cemetrey to look for any sign of relatives. There were non to be seen but this lovely beast looked over the fence at us. John is still doing some ancestry research but every so often we come to a dead end. A lovely morning.

Two walks this morning, beach and Pt Elliot to see a whale.

Feeling a bit stressed. Dont usually post too much about my problems but it looks as if I have to go onto insulin which I have been fighting off for years but my diabetes has suddenly got a lot worse. saw my GP this morning, a bit more to look at but I am not sure how it will all pan out. Feeling stressed. The walks were lovely.

I am loving the skies.

We had a lovely walk this morning, Pacific gulls and clouds. The sea weed had built up around towards the Bluff but was remarkably clear near the Inman River mouth so we walked that way. I am having problems with my aching back and hips but am managing. Home to plant a couple of plants in the front bed. Not sure how they will go. have blackbirds trying to rip stuff up. I dont really mind what grows in there so long as they grow. The little mare that won her novice yesterday won her open today, wish I was there to see it but I just cant manage it. At least they let me know with photos. She looks really lovely and a great child riding her too. Trying to finish another needle case and have found some black beads for eyes. John is researching the family tree, looks as if so far we have found a bit more on my grandmother on my mothers side. It is all very interesting.
