A trip to Adelaide to have hair cuts, call in to see my sister and friend P. Buy a new cat carrying cage, an electric lawn mower and come home. Thank goodness for airconditioned cars. All after I locked the keys in the house!! Thank goodness the agent had a spare. Home and fell in a heap under the air con. Drew my wonky little trees. That's about it for today.

Around and about.

Not a lot going on at the moment, it has got hot again, we had an early walk on the beach this morning. We were both feeling tired so not a long one. I made biscuits and played around with the book I am making with my on line course with Roxanne Evans Stout. Front and back covers now finished. I am having fun with this.

Around and about.

This is not what I was going to put up but the other computer has been turned off, we had a late afternoon walk on the beach, magic a plus that we can do it and to top it off I found treasure on the beach, a Cowie, haven't found one for ages and a beautiful baby helmet shell such a lovely colour, I was so pleased. George has decided that the ironing basket was a great place to sleep. I was going to do the ironing today but somehow I ran out of time so I put an old towel over the top and he has moved in. I am loving these pots I collected yesterday and to top it off I hung a few favorite pictures.

A bit of this and that.

Today was cool and overcast with a little bit of drizzle early. We went over to Tabby and collected a few more pots and I made a little collection in the front by the gate that goes into the back garden. So pleased. George in his usual place on the coffee table Nick gave his father for I think his 50th, he will be 80 in a few weeks!! It is made from the metal ends of an old seeder and is as heavy as.. My daily stitch embroidery is nearing the end, I am trying to make sure there is enough room to get to December 31st. John has been feeling a bit off today, bit asthmatic, doesn't often happen but just occasionally. Oh and the front of my book that I am doing with Roxanne Evans on line course. I am having fun with this, not that I am much of a collage person. I just love making books.

Two versions of the same photo.

I was tagged on Facebook to put up a week of black and white photos. Had absolutely no idea how to do this so the first was a very old b/w photo. After a lot of fiddling, and wasting time I found that on my galaxy tablet I could turn colour into black and white. Very early this morning while no one was around, but not in my nightie, I raced out and took a photo of the street. It is quite a nice, quiet street but I do wish I had roses too. Any way I turned it into a black and white version, as well as colour. At least the house over the road has a screen of trees and tall shrubs in front of it. Today I made a start on making the book for the online class I am taking with Roxanne Evans Stout called pathways and wandering. A different way of making a book, quite interesting. Have to wait for the glue to dry. Unpacking more stuff, some books, it is a lottery, some I want, some I don't. Also found my lino cutting tools. Another lot of stuff brought in, we won't be able to move in this house soon.

Morning skies

Very hot again today.

We didn't walk this morning as our son called in, lovely to see him, but it was too hot to walk by the time he left. I put the little trees I had made from a free tutorial on Ann Wood's blog, love Thai quirky look. George has been sleeping on the floor under the air conditioner. It really is a bit early to have this heat and things are not coping with it very well. I did bring in quite a few things from the shed, paints as I was afraid they would dry out. The outlet for the air conditioner is out under the asinine roof and some of the plants get very hot so I have brought some in. I love having plants in the house, on the farm I had lots. Not so much room here. I have spent quite a lot of the day sewing, small embroidered tags for Christmas trees, I think I need 24, and have done over half. Christmas will be a bit sad this year, with not much money our usual pate will not be made. I have made a decision to do what looks like a great on line class with Roxanne Evans Stout called pathways and wanderings. It has been discounted and I have decided that somehow I have the money and although it maybe my last on line class I would do it. The exchange rate is not very good but I am in. Something to keep the brain going. I feel a bit shut in, the heat in summer tends to do that, our winters are mild so one can get out but the heat tends to drive every one inside. I was hoping for a walk this evening but John has a meeting. So late dinner.

John went fishing, I pottered around

I have to say I didn't feel brilliant today but I did manage to make a batch of biscuits and tidy a few things up. It warmed up quite a bit. John had a reasonably successful day fishing although I have to say all the fish for George, and not us, ended up on top in the sink. He will eat well. I am fed up with feeling rather off but I suppose my body will eventually settle down with this new medication.

Bits and pieces.

We were on the beach before 8 am this morning as it was supposed to get to 36 degrees today down here. It has got very hot but thank goodness for a decent air coditioner that works. I have spent most of the day making felt tags to use for Christmas. I felt for a while as if I really didn't want to know about Christmas but must be over my virus as I am suss in out a few easy things to do. Now if only I could find my big box of threads. I will have to wait until it cools down to go looking. There isn't much in the garden to pick for inside but I did manage this small bunch.
