Free flowers.
Today I was given a free bunch of flowers from my local Victor Harbor Woolworth store. I have no idea why but it was so lovely to be given them. I am sort of assuming that they were past their use by date but they are still alive and are giving me great pleasure, so thank you Woolworths, a lovely thought that has given me pleasure all day, and I hope will pleasure John while I am away.. Oh yes I am off for the weekend with my daughter to help granddaughter Fenella at the big Welsh pony show. I am looking forward to aching up with friends, but it is a lot g way, hope I survive it!

Today
We walked this morning and there was another boat anchored, it was very low tide and I dont think I remember this one. A lovely walk and then home. hoses on as things are starting to dry out. I started this reindeer in Jill Maas's class a week or so ago, I have finally got him onto the backing board but still have to finish him off, give him a name and get a hanger for him. I love him, quite mad and such a fun thing to hang on the wall. OK I'm a bit mad too.

Bit of this and that.
I am feeling tired, set off early this morning for a 4 hour round trip to Adelaide to deliver eggs, dropped into friends at
Willunga to collect oysters and home for a slightly late lunch. It is warming up so once more I went around the garden to see what is flowering. I love both the star jasmine and the deep blue agapanthus near the back door. At the moment I am trying g to finish off some small animals that this year will be my presents for the families and friends trees. I have decided that we will not send out cards this year as it has just got too expensive, much as I love receiving them. I am playing with making fabric cards at the moment to pop on family presents. I think they are going to be OK. Off to Victoria on Thursday with my daughter to go to the Victorian All Welsh pony show. I am really looking forward to catching up with friends I haven't seen for ages. Hope it isn't hot though.

A couple more hares
Love this pattern, have finally worked it out!! Think I must be over this virus and am thinking a bit more clearly. Haven't given them names or stories yet but I will. She is wearing a child's sock I found in a drawer, only one so didn't mind using it as a dress. Busy day today, shopping, no walk, finished the ironing, well I would have if some more just came off the line. We are now suffering from aching backs, John suggested we have the aging back virus. Have to have something to complain about..

Walking Pt Elliot this morning
We had to go part of the way over to Pt elliot this morning to pick up our bread flour so went on and walked around the front. Met an old friend there, had a lovely chat and then went on to do the circuit and back to the ute. The gazanias are out in full bloom. I have been playing around with bits and pieces but nothing really to show. Ironing was partly done, I dont think I realised John had so many shirts. The chickens under the hens so far seem ok and I found a newly hatched little blue one but I am not sure if it will survive. I was amazed to find it as the 2 eggs that were there had been in and out from under the hens.
I had a bad night with my knee last night so have been rather slower than I should be this afternoon, but all animals are fed and the pots watered so although I think it is heating up still reasonable down here. Just not sure what it will be like for next week end. It is schoolies weekend in Victor this week end, no one really looks forward to it and I hope every one is sensible.

Morning walk and a find in the garden
We walked along the cliffs this morning, quite fresh and breezy but a lovely walk. The crop next to the path has been mown. I also found this lovely day lilly in the garden as I walked up the track after I had seen the mother cat and her 4 kittens that some how Sarah had managed to catch, poor thing she had obviously been dumped. I hate that. Any way I love the colour of this day lilly and it is quite big, should have cropped the photo. Collected 4 chicks to put under the broody hens, hope they accept them. Still cool today thank goodness. Off to feed George and Max and organise our meal, John has been keeping up with the broad bean picking.

Around the garden a few minutes ago
I am having trouble with my eyes and cant see my optomotrist for a couple of weeks. Too much close work perhaps or the cataract I have has suddenly decided to deepen. I really had trouble seeing these photos so I hope they are ok'
The big tree grevillia is starting to flower, the smoke bush is looking stunning, love the purple of it and its flowers, Penelope Rose in the garden, this is not the entire bush which was a bit too far back for me to take a decent photo. Geraniums growing through the grey pear tree and pink alstroemeria which seem to thrive on neglect. Probably got some of the names wrong, at least it is a post. Much cooler today and more pleasant. Just wish I didnt feel as if I was seeing through a fog.

Odds and ends from the last few days
I hvent been doing a lot, trying to conserve what strength I have but I do feel marginally better today. John has gone fishing, maybe this time they will catch something. It has suddenly got hot and the garden is not liking it but this corner of the house was taken a few days ago, along with the big moon and then yesterday i went to the market and bought some lettuce seedlings and some french sorrel, havent had it before but I loved the look of the leaves. It will have to go in a pot as the pea cocks will probably eat it. I have counted up my little Christmas presents I make and add to peoples, this year very small presents and I need to make about 6 more, oh dear, and a cushion and another hare. If I dont get things done in the morning I tend to fall asleep in the afternoon. Well we have some fish and a couple of squid so that is good and the garden has been nicely productive too with broad beans, strawberries and some loquats. Better go and hull the strawberries.

Still struggling with this wretched virus.

I am getting addicted to these little guys.
I thought I felt better this morning but the trip into town made me realize I didn't. I have now made three of these little guys and more may come. It was so cold yesterday that the fire was lit and George didn't move from in front of it. Still cold but we have run out of wood. Don't expect it to be going still in mid November.I will be glad when this wretched cold goes, although I have heard it has taken a week or so. At least it has stopped blowing a gale. I really want to get out in the garden but am rather afraid I might fall over. Perhaps tomorrow.

Morning walk
A lovely morning along the beach, fresh air, but I dont know if I have hay fever again or I have caught whatever it is that John has. What ever I feel terribly tired, stuffed up and sneezing. Its not exactly his symptoms but what ever it is I dont want it. We walked discussing American politics, probably like so many people. I dont pretend to understand it but I guess we will see how it all turns out eventually. I do know that I dont want a republic, I am quite happy with the Royal family being our head of state, I certainly dont want elections the way they have them in America. Too long, too uncertain and far too expensive.

A fun day
A tiring g but fun day although I could have done without the 2 and 1/4 hour trip up to Adelaide for a fun day making a small rabbit, or is it a hare and beginning a bird to decorate with the lovely and talented Jill Maas from New Zealand at friend C's house. Lovely to catch up with several others. By the time I got home I was terribly tired. 2 days in Adelaide on top of each other is more than I am used to these days. We were just having fun decorating them with scraps. My bird is not finished and I need to do a bit more on the little beast. Another foal early this morning. One more to go. I do hope tomorrow is a bit more relaxing.

Busy busy
Not all of the week end is here, we did quite well at our SA All Welsh Show but I have no photos at the moment, Best Foal of show was one of the highlights. Saturday was a full on day and I was so tired at the end of it. didnt get down to P in Adelaide until after 5 pm and fell asleep in my chair. Sunday was the lovely class with Jill Maas, that is Jill in the orange. My not finished reindeer, needs his antlers. I could only do one day, but have quite a lot done. We had a new foal this morning, a nice little bay Welsh Mountain colt. Again I am so tired and a trip to Adelaide both tomorrow and Wednesday are not going to help. I have been busy washing for most of the day, at least it is cool but a good drying day.
There was a herb sale on in the grounds where we had our class and I bought some nice looking ornamental sage plants. Hope I stop aching soon! That is the trouble with being busy, lovely while it happens but a pain after wards.

Things are flowering in the garden
It is hard to believe it is November already. Plants are flowering late and the birds are nesting late. We have had so much wind and it is still quite cold. So many weeds in the garden but it still looks rather lovely. I am doing my best to catch up but another full on week end, and next week are not helping. I have cleaned out the deep freeze that was defrosted while we were away, luckily everything was still cold so not a huge amount to throw out, but enough.
