Saturdays walk

I know it is now Tuesday, but I have had a week end and a half.
My mother to those who enquired looked very thin and frail when I saw her yesterday but alert and bright. So I think we take it all day by day.
I went on to the doll class I should have been doing but sat and quietly chatted to another friend who wasnt getting a lot done due to a nasty case of some sort of fybermyalga, she is over 80 and a bit scared of how things are going.
I brought Barbara home and today has been very wet and rainy and so we have sat by the fire and made doll heads, well I made on and she has made the others.
Tabby had to take the car so we couldnt go any where and I think Barbara was rather tired.
We did have a lovely walk on Saturday, goodness knows when I will get the next one. This was all along the mouth of the Inman River.

The back of the jacket

This is the back of the jacket I am knitting, it looks huge and will no doubt take me for ever to finish.
My mother is apparently not at all well, and at 96 anything may tip the scales so I am going to Adelaide tomorrow to see her and then bring back my American friend. I hope all is well but I will be back in Adelaide again next week and my sisters are still both there, although one is going to Africa on Thursday and is not feeling happy about it.
My mother is a tough old girl and we have thought the worst before and she has come good so here is hoping.
It is very wet and cold at the moment, may this be the winter we have been hoping for for a few years.

Winter early morning walk

On Friday morning I went out for an early walk, up the hill in the house paddock and then up the new race that has been put in.
I found these toadstools at the top of the house paddock and then from my new advantage point looked back down to the newly enlarged dam and the elm that has lost its leaves across the newly seeded paddock.
The sky was quite incredible so I had to take a photo of that and then down a cool and wintry, misty sort of valley, and over to the other side.
I am supposed to be at my doll class but I am not, still a lot to do in the house, let alone outside which probably wont be done.
I had Tabby and John and Millie for dinner last night and could hardly move after all the cleaning that has had to be done.
Since being away I cant believe the amount of dust, shows that all though it looks damp and we have had a bit of drizzle most days, it can still be dry and dusty as well.
If you click on the photos you can see them better.

First, fourth and fifth generations

Yesterday Gaby, Mason and I went to see my mother. So there were those generations as well as me who is the second in the room at once. Mason was very co operative, he is now 8 months and sitting and standing and trying to swim along the floor.
He was a great distraction for my mother. Gaby and I had a lovely day although I have to say I came home feeling totally done in. I hate this getting old bit I should be able to do every thing and I cant.
Today I have made up and thoroughly cleaned the blue bedroom, beds made and all ready for Barbara when she comes.
The other work room has been made clean and tidy so now all I have to do is a thorough clean through the rest of the house.
Tomorrow is grand parents day at one of the schools my grand children are at so I may not get a lot done then but it will be fun to relax a bit.

My work room

this may not look better to any one else but to me this is a huge improvement and you can actually see the floor, a bit.
John didnt think it looked much better but I do.It is a very cramped small bedroom heaven knows how two children survived in it.
Hmm having looked at the photos blown up I can see more room for improvement!!

A wet morning in the garden

We woke up this morning to this, I raced outside with the camera in my night attire to try and take some photos.
What I wanted was drops of water on the leaves and branches, I think I got a few.
I spent all day still in my work room. I think I need another plastic tub, oh dear.
Any way I have all the fabric stashed, and I can actually see places to work.
Of course now I have to attack the other room where I stuck stuff that I dont want in that room. It is never ending and my back is killing me.
I am not going to beading class tonight, in fact I probably wont go this term as I have another two nights when I wont be here.
Love my garden when it looks like this, even the pomegranite looks good. Enlarge and you may see a peacock in one photos.

Over the Week end

I had a really busy week end but on Saturday morning John and I went for a walk and coffee, the view from Whalers, it was cold but calm. These two swallows looked as if they thought this hollowed out piece of granite would make a good home!
Then the farmers market, a bit sparse as I think the winter weather is keeping people away.
Then why I havent posted over the weekend. I decided to do something with the mess in my work room. At this stage this is what the floor looks like! I will spend a couple of days fording and sorting my fabric stash which seems to have multiplied.
As you can see I have cleared a few shelves and just need to get all back and sorted.
I did make a bit of room by helping John put together a metal cupboard to go in the shed and I have started taking out magazines I dont want to throw away but dont need to refer to all the time. Wish I had more room in the house but I dont. Magazines seem to multiply.
Oh and I have a huge rubbish bag of scraps that I really dont need any more and are really too small for any one to use. I had big plans but it really is too silly to keep them.
Dont think this is all my fabric stash, these are only the cottons, under the bed and in other places are huge plastic containers with silks and felts, wool etc etc.
I am glad I wont be around to sort it when I die!!
