Cool weather
Our beach walks have been not very long, I just don't seem to be able to walk far without aching but at least I am doing them. THIS morning a a few tiny dead fish. The seagulls were enjoying them. We were not sure what they were. Also a large shark egg, lots of kelp and with the high tides another re arrangement of sea weed on the beach. I have also been playing with paint fabric and paper. Not terribly inspiring but fun. The painted fabric I am now very slowly doing some hand embroidery, a short free online course. Sorry for some reason this is going haywire so I will stop.

warming up
I am not looking forward to the next few days as our temperatures are heading for 38 degrees. Not at all nice and next Tuesday when we have a memorial for our dear friend D'Arry it is supposed to be 38. I may not get there as the heat really knocks me around. We ere up and walking on the beach early this morning. There are still sea creatures being washed up, due I think to the fresh water coming down to the sea from the River Murray floods. I don't know what this one is, much larger than the other sea cucumbers, I feel so sorry for them all. Summer hear is to be survived and hope there are no fires. The floods have been giving it all a different perspective. I have been slowly sewing my interpretation of our sea scape, I am doing Shelley Rhodes on line class, second time around and enjoying it but am very slow.At least I am still able to manage my walks most mornings even though I am battling an aching hip. Thank goodness for my walking stick it really helps.

some silly drawings
I am doing a 5 day challenge using prompts to draw and paint with. I do very silly drawings but while the body aches they sort of keep me sane. At 83 my body really doesn't like me. Arthritis being the main problem.I find myself more and more stuck in my chair so drawing and hand embroidery help, I think they also keep my hands a bit more mobile, up to a point.

The start of the New Year
Some bits and pieces from the last week or so. As so few people read my blog it doesn't really matter. Yesterday I hit one of my crumpled arthritic toes on a corner in the hall. It has gone an incredible color but although a bit painful hasn't stopped my beach walks. I drew this very silly rabbit when the sketchbook revival prompt went up,those prompts do give me something to do while I sit aching in my chair. There were some bits and pieces on the beach the other day that I added to my collection. I am redoing Shelley Rhodes class on line. Life got in the way and I didn't finish it last time. I made a UMO and have started another one. Took me ages to get it to the size I wanted but so pleased with it A bird love doing birds and a trip over to Waitpinga beach a few days ago. So sad I can no longer get down to walk on it but just looking is almost good enough. At my age looking forward to a whole year is perhaps rather ambitious but we can hope and also hope we don't lose too many friends or family. 2022 wasn't very good in that regard but the births of two great grandchildren did make up for it. Our problem is that our bodies are not as they once we're.Just so long as the brain is still more or less working! Talking of that I keep forgetting what UMO means, basically it is an object wrapped in crumpled paper with a poem written on ìt. Wrapped in red yarn and then wrapped and stitched in fabric and embellished. So far the weather has been kind, only the odd hot day followed by lovely mild weather. I know it won't last but am enjoying it while I can. I do see our gorgeous ittle great grand son Hugh, he is at the smiling giggly age. Such a delight. We lost our old dog on Christmas night and I still look for him but at our age another really isn't practical.
top of that we need to find a new place to rent.
That I am not looking forward to.
